This Privacy Policy explains how Jobot collects, uses, stores, and shares personal data when you use the website, waitlist, account services, and any candidate assistance workflows we make available.

1. Who is responsible for your data

For the purposes described in this policy, "Jobot," "we," and "us" refer to the Jobot service operator. Until a separate entity name is displayed in your onboarding, order form, or account documents, you may contact us at hello@jobot.app.

2. Data we collect

We may collect:

  • Account data such as your name, email address, password hash, and preferences.
  • Profile data such as your CV, work history, skills, target roles, locations, salary preferences, and application materials.
  • Application workflow data such as saved answers, uploaded documents, employer-facing content, application status, and communication logs.
  • Technical and usage data such as device, browser, IP-derived region, session activity, and security events.
  • Support and commercial data such as waitlist submissions, support messages, billing references, and subscription records.

3. Sensitive or special-category data

Please avoid including sensitive personal data in your CV or account unless it is genuinely necessary for your job search. This may include information revealing health conditions, disability status, racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, political opinions, trade union membership, biometric data, or data concerning sexual orientation.

If you choose to provide this type of information and ask us to process or transmit it as part of your application workflow, you authorize us to do so for that purpose. Where required by applicable law, we rely on your explicit consent for that processing. You can ask us to delete or stop using that data at any time, subject to legal retention obligations.

4. Why we use your data

We use personal data to:

  • Provide, maintain, and secure the Jobot service.
  • Create and manage your account.
  • Parse your CV and structure your profile.
  • Match you with relevant openings and prepare application materials.
  • Complete or transmit applications when you instruct or authorize us to do so.
  • Respond to support requests and service communications.
  • Prevent abuse, fraud, and unauthorized access.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
  • Send product or marketing updates where you have consented or where permitted by law.

5. Legal bases

Depending on the context, we rely on one or more of the following bases:

  • Performance of a contract or steps at your request before entering into a contract.
  • Your consent, including for marketing communications and, where required, special-category data.
  • Our legitimate interests in operating, securing, improving, and defending the service.
  • Compliance with legal obligations.

6. Who we share data with

We may share personal data with:

  • Employers, recruiters, applicant tracking systems, or job platforms when you request or authorize an application workflow.
  • Infrastructure, analytics, authentication, storage, database, and customer support providers acting on our behalf.
  • Payment service providers for subscription management and fraud controls.
  • Professional advisers, regulators, courts, or law enforcement where legally required or reasonably necessary.

When your data reaches an employer or recruiting platform, that recipient acts under its own privacy practices and terms.

7. International transfers

Jobot and its service providers may process data in countries outside your own. Where applicable, we use contractual, technical, and organizational safeguards intended to protect transferred personal data.

8. Retention

We keep personal data for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain records, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations. Retention may vary by data category. When data is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it within a reasonable period, subject to backup and legal hold constraints.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent where consent is the basis. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect personal data against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or disclosure. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. AI-assisted processing

Some Jobot features may use AI systems to summarize your profile, propose application content, or structure information for workflows. These outputs can be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate. You remain responsible for the truth and accuracy of the information you choose to keep or submit.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make a material change, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
